Hi, I'm Kyra! I'm a First-Class English Language and Literature graduate from the University of Oxford and an experienced tutor who loves helping students grow in confidence and achieve their goals. Over the past few years, I've worked with students of different ages and abilities, supporting them with English, essay writing, exam preparation, and university applications. Whether you're aiming for top grades, preparing for an entrance exam, or simply looking to feel more confident in the classroom, I tailor each lesson to your individual needs and learning style. My teaching approach is friendly, encouraging, and structured. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, so I focus on creating a supportive environment while also helping them develop strong academic skills and independence. As an Oxford graduate, I particularly enjoy helping students develop critical thinking, clear communication, and a genuine enjoyment of learning. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a student realise what they're capable of. I look forward to helping you reach your goals! 😊 Education has been at the heart of my work since graduating from the University of Oxford with a First-Class degree in English Language and Literature. Over the past several years, I have taught students from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and ability levels, both in the UK and internationally. My experience spans one-to-one tutoring, small-group teaching, online learning, curriculum design, and academic mentoring. I have worked extensively as an English tutor, supporting students with reading comprehension, analytical writing, essay structure, grammar, and exam technique. My students have included primary school pupils building core literacy skills, secondary school students preparing for GCSEs and A Levels, and university applicants seeking support with personal statements, interviews, and academic writing. Through this work, I have developed a strong understanding of how to adapt my teaching to different learning styles, helping each student build confidence alongside academic ability. A significant part of my experience has involved supporting students through competitive applications. I have guided students preparing for Oxbridge admissions, helping them develop critical thinking skills, refine written work, and prepare for interviews. I have also worked with students applying to selective schools and sixth-form programmes, providing tailored support with entrance examinations, interview preparation, and academic enrichment. Alongside teaching, I have managed the administrative side of educational programmes, coordinating schedules, tracking student progress, communicating with parents, and creating personalised learning plans. This experience has given me a broad understanding of the educational journey from both the student's and family's perspective, allowing me to provide organised, goal-oriented support. My teaching has also taken me beyond the UK. While working remotely and from educational hubs in Mexico, I taught students across different time zones and cultural backgrounds, developing the flexibility and communication skills needed to work effectively with international learners. This experience strengthened my ability to build rapport quickly and adapt lessons to diverse educational contexts. What I enjoy most about education is helping students discover confidence in their own abilities. While academic results are important, I believe the most meaningful progress comes when students learn how to think independently, communicate clearly, and approach challenges with curiosity rather than fear. My goal is always to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel empowered to achieve their potential.

I'm Ahsan, a first-year Accounting and Finance student at Queen Mary University of London. I tutor GCSE and A-Level Maths and Economics and I genuinely love helping students get to grips with topics that feel confusing at first. I have paid tutoring experience so I know how to break things down in a way that actually makes sense. I'm patient, friendly, and I'll work at whatever pace suits you best. Whether you're trying to catch up or push for a top grade, I'm here to help you get there! I am currently in my first year studying BSc Accounting and Finance at Queen Mary University of London, giving me a strong and up-to-date understanding of the subjects I teach. I completed my A-Levels in Mathematics, Economics, and Business Studies, so I know exactly what is required at that level and what examiners are looking for. I have paid tutoring experience working with GCSE and A-Level students, helping them build confidence, close knowledge gaps, and improve their grades. I take a structured approach to every session, starting by identifying where a student is struggling and working through those areas clearly before moving forward. Alongside my studies, I have professional experience in a finance environment which means I can bring real-world context to Economics and Maths topics, making them easier to understand and more engaging for students.

Hello! I am currently studying Theoretical Physics at the University of Bath. My main pastimes include hiking/camping, going to the gym, and running, so I do hope that I can relate to many of you! For me, tutoring is developing a clear understanding of subject knowledge instead of regurgitation of facts; learning should be to question and to think critically rather than to memorise. With me as a tutor, you can expect to gain a deep insight into your subject and acquire the ability to excel in your exams. I attended Swanmore College Of Technology where I studied 10 GCSE's achieving 5 9's in (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Enterprise and marketing and English literature)- 4 8's ( Maths, Computer science, English language and History) 1 7 ( Further maths). In my A- levels I achieved an A* in Maths, an A in Further Maths, an A in Physics and an A* in an extended project qualification for which I did extensive research in quantum mechanics and furthered my understanding of the double slit experiment exponentially (in both the quantum and classical realm). Currently I am a first year undergraduate at the University Of Bath studying Theoretical Physics.

Hey! I’m an Aerospace Engineering graduate who decided Maths and Sciences shouldn’t feel like a foreign language. I turn the “what is this even?” moments into “ohhh, that’s how it works! I do understand how challenging these subjects can feel, which is why I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, logical steps that actually make sense. I’ve helped students improve grades, boost confidence, and even start enjoying the subjects they once found intimidating. My lessons are well-structured, interactive, and tailored to each student’s learning style, whether you’re aiming for top exam results or just want to build a stronger foundation. My lessons focus on understanding the “why” behind each concept, not just memorising formulae. I use real-life examples from engineering to bring ideas to life and adapt my approach to each student’s learning style. I use step-by-step explanations, visual aids, and real-world examples to help students see how theory connects to practice. Every session is tailored to suit the student’s learning style and goals. Come join, let’s make Maths and your Sciences finally make sense… and fun! I hold a first class degree in Aerospace Engineering, where I developed a strong foundation in advanced Mathematics, Physics, and problem-solving. My studies focused on aerodynamics, materials, and adaptive wing technologies, areas that taught me how to apply theory to real-world engineering challenges. Throughout my degree, I gained extensive experience using analytical and design tools, which deepened my understanding of the core Maths and Physics principles behind modern engineering. This hands-on background helps me explain complex topics clearly and show students how what they’re learning connects to practical, real-life applications.

What are GCSEs?
GCSEs are qualifications that students in the UK achieve at the end of their compulsory education.
A GCSE grade is given to each subject and calculated on written exams, practical exams and coursework.
How important are GCSEs?
GCSEs are a universally recognised qualification in the UK.
Specific GCSE grades may be required when applying for further education. This includes applications for college, sixth form and university, or when applying for a job.
GCSEs can come with a lot of pressure and expectation but your child can achieve the grades that they need with lots of practice as well as guidance from a GCSE tutor.
At what age do you take GCSEs?
Students take their GCSE exams around age 16, in the last months of the academic year at school, although the syllabus is taught between the ages of 14-16 years.
There is now more weight than ever being placed on final exams (instead of coursework), so students must be well equipped to perform on the day.
Which GCSEs are compulsory?
The core subjects for GCSEs are maths, English and science.
Other GCSEs include languages (usually French, German or Spanish), humanities (such as history, geography or religious studies), art (music, art, media, drama) and technical (food technology, design and technology, computer science).
Can GCSEs be re-marked?
If your child is on the cusp of getting the grade that they hoped for or the result simply does not seem fair, the paper in question can be sent back to the exam board for appeal.
Many students appeal exam results when they are one or two marks away from the next grade up. The right study plan and a good understanding of the marking scheme for each exam can help avoid this situation.
If your child has achieved marks close to the grade line in their mock exams, it could be time to get them some help with a GCSE tutor.
