Hi! My name is Shaanya and I am a first year medical student at UCL. I have been a dedicated tutor for 1.5 years and have a strong passion for teaching science and mathematics and helping students build confidence in these subjects. My approach focuses on making complex ideas simple and engaging by breaking them down into clear, logical steps. I believe that every student can succeed in maths and science with the right guidance, patience, and practice. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new concepts. Rather than just memorising formulas, I help students understand the reasoning behind them so they can apply their knowledge to different problems. This approach helps develop critical thinking and long-term understanding. I have experience supporting students with topics such as algebra, geometry, physics, and basic chemistry and biology concepts. I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s learning style, whether that involves step-by-step problem solving, visual explanations, or real-world examples that make the subject more relatable. My goal as a tutor is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop curiosity and confidence in science and maths. Seeing students progress, overcome challenges, and achieve their academic goals is what motivates me most as an educator. I attended Godolphin and Latymer Secondary School from years 7-13 which provided me with a strong foundation of education. Here I sat my GCSE's and scored 11 grade 9's. I also sat my A-Level's at this schools and achieved 3 A*'s and 1 A. My secondary school education provided a strong academic basis and developed my ability to support others in their learning. Throughout my studies, I consistently achieved good results and demonstrated a clear understanding of key subjects such as mathematics and science. I often assisted classmates by explaining complex topics in a clear and patient manner, helping them gain confidence and improve their understanding. This experience strengthened my communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. It also confirmed my interest in tutoring and academic support. I am confident that the knowledge and skills I developed during my secondary education enabled me to be an effective, reliable, and supportive tutor. I am currently studying medicine at University College London and am in my first year. My first year of medical university education has helped me become a good tutor by strengthening both my knowledge and communication skills. Studying subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry requires deep understanding and regular revision, which allows me to explain complex concepts clearly to others. Medical training also encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and patience—qualities that are essential for effective tutoring. Through group discussions and collaborative learning, I have learned how to adapt explanations to different learning styles. As a result, I can support students confidently, break down difficult topics into simple steps, and help them build both understanding and confidence in their studies.

I’m a 4th-year medical student who enjoys finding a balance between academics and creativity. When I’m not studying or working on university projects, I love going to the beach to surfing. I also enjoy being on stage and taking part in theatre productions, as acting allows me to express myself in a completely different way. In quieter moments, I like to dabble in a bit of art through painting and crafts, and more recently I’ve started learning how to crochet, which has been both fun and rewarding. I’m also an animal lover, especially cats in particular. I enjoy using my creativity most when it comes to teaching, finding ways to make learning easier and, just as importantly, enjoyable. I believe that learning is not just about absorbing knowledge but also about building a skill that you can use throughout life I attended West Buckland School from Year 7 to Year 13, between September 2016 and July 2022. In 2020, I completed 10 GCSEs with grades ranging from 6 to 9, including a 7 in English and Physics, an 8 in Mathematics, and a 9 in both Biology and Chemistry. I then studied A-levels in Biology, Mathematics, and Chemistry, alongside completing an Extended Project Qualification. Now I am a 4th year medical student.

Hi! I’m Ananth, a University of Warwick student here to help you crush your exams. having recently been through the system myself, I know exactly what examiners are looking for. I have extensive experience mentoring peers in school and currently teach GCSE Maths to private students. My lessons are interactive and tailored to your specific learning style. I don't just teach the content; I teach the revision habits and exam techniques that helped me succeed. Let's work together to get you the grades you deserve! I am a BSc Discrete Mathematics undergraduate at the University of Warwick with a proven track record of academic excellence, having achieved A*A*A*A* at A-Level (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Economics) alongside eight Grade 9s and one Grade 8 at GCSE. Having navigated these rigorous exams successfully, I understand exactly what examiners look for. I focus on breaking down complex, abstract topics into clear, logical steps, ensuring my students build genuine understanding and robust exam technique rather than relying on rote memorisation. I’m currently studying Health Sciences at the University of Worcester, progressing onto a Physiotherapy degree, which has strengthened my understanding of how people learn, communicate, and develop confidence. I completed my GCSEs and A-levels at a grammar school, where I built strong academic foundations and effective study habits that I now help students develop themselves. Alongside my studies, I’ve played rugby, which has developed my teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills — qualities I bring into my tutoring style. I also have ADHD and dyslexia, which has given me a strong understanding that every student learns differently, allowing me to adapt my teaching approach to suit individual learning styles and support students who may lack confidence or feel overwhelmed. I also have a strong interest in music production, which has helped me develop creativity, patience, and problem-solving skills. I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities. I attended Gravesend Grammar School after successfully passing the 11+ entrance examination, where I studied from Year 7 through to Year 11 before continuing into the Sixth Form. At GCSE level, I completed Higher Mathematics, English Language and English Literature, Geography, Physical Education, Business Studies, French, and Higher Combined Science. I achieved Grade 7s and strong passes across my core subjects, including the sciences, English, Geography, and Physical Education, with Grade 5s in my remaining subjects. I then completed A-levels in Biology, Psychology, and Physical Education, developing a strong understanding of human science, behaviour, and performance. Following my A-levels, I applied to the University of Worcester, where I am currently in my first year studying Health Sciences and progressing onto a Physiotherapy degree pathway.
