Hi, I'm Evie, a physics undergraduate with experience tutoring secondary school. I focus on helping students build a solid understanding of core physics topics like mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics. My approach is structured but flexible—whether you need help preparing for exams, working through assignments, or clarifying tough concepts, I tailor sessions to your learning style and goals. My goal is to make physics and maths more approachable and help you gain confidence in solving problems independently. I went to secondary school in the UK, where I achieved nine grade 9s at GCSE, demonstrating strong academic performance across a range of subjects. At A-level, I earned three A grades, including in Physics and Maths, which reflect both my interest in the sciences and my ability to handle complex, analytical material. These experiences laid a strong foundation for my current studies at the University of Edinburgh, where I’m pursuing a degree in Physics. Through my own academic journey, I’ve developed effective study techniques, a deep understanding of core physics principles, and a practical approach to problem-solving — all of which I now apply in tutoring. I have focused on helping this student consolidate their understanding of core skills; where possible, I also aim to stretch the student's understanding beyond their years, helping them to get ahead in their studies. During sixth form, I took part in a project called Maths Masterclasses, where I helped design and deliver lessons to primary school students. Planning my presentation required careful thought about structure, clarity, and how to challenge the students beyond their curriculum. I also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), researching how education strategies can be used in children’s medicine to give children and their carers better understanding of health. Techniques like “teach back,” where students explain a topic in their own words, have stuck with me as important tools for reinforcing learning. More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. I look forward to helping students build confidence and enjoy learning as much as possible. I completed my GCSEs at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy, obtaining the highest grade available (9) in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science. I then completed my A-levels in 2024, obtaining grade A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. As of 2025, I have been a private tutor for a KS3 student (and I am also able to teach at higher or lower levels, such as KS1, KS2, GCSE and A-Level. I have focused on helping this student consolidate their understanding of core skills; where possible, I also aim to stretch the student's understanding beyond their years, helping them to get ahead in their studies. Alongside my A-levels, I gained a range of casual experience during college. I took part in an extracurricular programme called Maths Masterclasses, where I prepared worksheets and delivered presentations to primary school students, helping stretch their understanding of Maths beyond the standard curriculum. I was also a member of the Virtual Medical Society, working with other aspiring medical students to create presentations on topics such as medical current affairs, admission exams, and aspects of the application process. This helped me develop the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence. In addition, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and was awarded an A* for my work. My project, titled The Role of Health Literacy in Preventative Children's Medicine, deepened my understanding of the educational principles used in healthcare and how they can be applied within broader educational contexts.

Hello! My name is Will and I am a Theology graduate of the University of Cambridge. I currently work as an accountant and live in London, but I love tutoring. I am currently available to help students with GCSE Maths and English as well as A-Level English. I have experience helping students at GCSE and A-Level, and with applying to Cambridge. I attended Hessle High School and Sixth Form College for both my GCSEs and A-Levels. I took English Literature, History, and Classical Civilisations to A-Level and Maths to AS where I achieved A*A*A. After that, I went to study Classics at King's College, the University of Cambridge but switched after my first year to Theology. Currently, I am studying to be an ICAEW chartered accountant and hope to finish this in 2026!
