I am an English student at the University of Nottingham, currently working on my degree. I came from Essex, studying for 7 years at KEGS, a top-tier grammar school, where I attained 14 GCSE's, and 3 A-levels. I spent much of that time tutoring and teaching students below me, as I have a great passion for teaching. I completed my secondary education at a grammar school in Chelmsford, where I achieved strong academic results across a broad curriculum, including 14 GCSEs. Notably, I was awarded grade 9s in both English Literature and English Language. I then progressed to A-level study, securing an A in English alongside two additional subjects. I am currently in the final year of my undergraduate studies and will graduate in May with a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Nottingham.

Hi! My name is Aisha and I am a second-year medical student who really enjoys helping students feel more confident in their learning. I remember how stressful school and exams can feel, so I try to be the kind of tutor I would have wanted myself- patient, encouraging, and easy to talk to. I am calm, approachable, and always happy to explain things more than once if needed. I believe learning works best in a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My aim is not just to help with the subject content, but to build confidence, motivation, and good study habits along the way. Outside of studying medicine, I enjoy reading, learning languages, practising yoga, and spending time with friends. I am a second-year medical student with a strong academic background across both science and humanities subjects. Achieving top grades at GCSE level and progressing through A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, and English literature has given me a well-rounded understanding of different learning styles and exam techniques. Studying medicine has helped me to develop a structured and clear approach to learning, which I use to help students build strong foundations and confidence in their subjects. I focus on adapting explanations to suit each student and supporting them to understand concepts clearly rather than relying solely on memorisation. Hi! I’m Emilia, a Maths and Physics tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students gain confidence in STEM subjects. I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at A-level, and recently completed my BSc in Mathematics and Physics. I’m now continuing my studies at the University of Cambridge, where I’m pursuing a Master’s (MPhil) in Data Intensive Science. I’ve been tutoring for the past two years, working with students of all ages and abilities, from primary school through to A-level. Most of my experience is at GCSE level, where I particularly enjoy helping students prepare for exams, strengthen problem-solving skills, and build genuine understanding rather than just memorising formulas. Outside of tutoring, I love combining my interests in science, coding, and education, as well as exploring creative projects that make complex ideas easier to visualise and learn. I’m currently studying for an MPhil in Data Intensive Science at the University of Cambridge, where I’m developing advanced skills in computational methods, statistics, and physics-based data analysis. Before this, I completed a BSc in Mathematics and Physics, which gave me a strong foundation in mathematical modelling, mechanics, and problem-solving. At school, I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at A-level, subjects that sparked my long-term interest in science and set me on the path I’m on today.

I am a first-year medical student at the University of Plymouth with over two years of experience teaching and supporting students academically. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, and I find it extremely rewarding to help students build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. Through my teaching experience, I have developed strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and approachable way. My favourite subjects are mathematics and chemistry, as I enjoy the logical thinking and problem-solving skills they develop. These subjects were key to my own academic success, which is why I am particularly passionate about teaching them. I understand the challenges students often face in these areas and enjoy breaking down difficult topics into manageable steps to help students succeed, just as I did. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Alongside teaching, I enjoy reading, which has helped me develop patience, curiosity, and a reflective approach to learning. These skills influence my teaching style, as I value understanding each student’s individual needs and learning styles. I am enthusiastic about continuing to teach alongside my studies and am committed to helping students reach their full potential through clear explanations, encouragement, and consistent support. I am currently a first-year medical student at the University of Plymouth, a position that reflects both my long-standing academic commitment and my passion for medicine. I am thoroughly enjoying my degree and find the course both intellectually stimulating and deeply rewarding. The integrated, patient-centred approach at Plymouth has strengthened my interest in clinical medicine and reinforced my motivation to pursue a career as a doctor. Prior to starting medicine, I completed one year of Biomedical Science at the University of Plymouth. This experience played a crucial role in shaping my academic development and confirming my desire to study medicine. During my time studying Biomedical Science, I gained a strong foundation in human biology, disease mechanisms, and scientific research, which has been invaluable in supporting my transition into medical school. The skills I developed during this year, including critical thinking, independent learning, and data analysis, have greatly enhanced my confidence and preparedness for the demands of the medical degree. My academic journey is supported by strong performance at A level, where I achieved three As in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. These subjects provided me with a solid scientific and analytical foundation, particularly relevant to the study of medicine. Biology and Chemistry strengthened my understanding of human physiology and biochemical processes, while Mathematics developed my problem-solving and logical reasoning skills. Additionally, my secondary school education reflects consistent academic excellence. I achieved six 9/8s in GCSE in Additional Mathematics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Environmental Management. These results demonstrate my early aptitude for science and numeracy, as well as my ability to manage a challenging academic workload. Overall, my educational background highlights my dedication, resilience, and sustained commitment to pursuing a career in medicine.

Hi, I’m Maja! (Pronounced Maya). I’m an astrophysics postgrad and a qualified secondary school science teacher. I’ve been through the full rollercoaster of science education, from fighting my way through a master’s degree and emerging with first-class honours, to teaching Year 9s on a Friday afternoon who would rather be anywhere else. Now I help GCSE and A-Level students believe what I already know: you can do this. My goal is to make science feel understandable, interesting, and even a bit fun. When I’m not teaching, you'll find me hanging upside down on an aerial hoop, or writing stories inspired by science and folklore. I went to secondary school in Hungary, where I was initially more interested in the humanities, until I fell in love with space and modern physics. For my leaving qualifications, I completed Advanced Exams in Mathematics and Physics and achieved an A. At university, I completed an integrated Master of Physics degree at the University of Southampton. My first three years focused on general physics (including lab work, mechanics, quantum physics, solid state physics, and wave physics) with a few modules of astronomy. During my master’s year, I had the incredible opportunity to conduct research at the Harvard & Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where I studied the relationship between black holes and their host galaxies and wrote my thesis on this topic. I graduated with first-class honours in Astrophysics. After university, I felt drawn to education and wanted to help students grasp the beauty of science, so I completed a year of school-centred initial teacher training. I now hold a PGCE with QTS as a qualified science teacher.
