Hello! I'm Alex, an enthusiastic English teacher from England with a love for making learning fun, engaging and memorable. I've always been passionate about language - starting from my early school days, where I would read thesauruses and Atlases memorising all the words and capital cities for pure entertainment! Now, I focus on helping students enjoy and remember what they learn, making every lesson both captivating and effective. With a degree in Media, Culture & Social Sciences from the University of the West of England and as a fully qualified TEFL teacher, I bring a rich blend of cultural insight and academic excellence to my English teaching. I’ve traveled extensively across China, South America, and Europe, which has deepened my understanding of diverse learning styles and cultural nuances. In addition to my educational background, I’m also a certified health coach, specialising in holistic healing and self-empowerment. My approach to teaching is holistic and student-centred, fostering a supportive environment where your child can thrive both academically and inter-personally. I achieved top grades at GCSE and A level, and I would love to help you learn effectively. I am an amicable individual who takes pride in my ability to understand, work with and assist others. As of 2025, I have been a private tutor for a KS3 student (and I am also able to teach at higher or lower levels, such as KS1, KS2, GCSE and A-Level. I have focused on helping this student consolidate their understanding of core skills; where possible, I also aim to stretch the student's understanding beyond their years, helping them to get ahead in their studies. During sixth form, I took part in a project called Maths Masterclasses, where I helped design and deliver lessons to primary school students. Planning my presentation required careful thought about structure, clarity, and how to challenge the students beyond their curriculum. I also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), researching how education strategies can be used in children’s medicine to give children and their carers better understanding of health. Techniques like “teach back,” where students explain a topic in their own words, have stuck with me as important tools for reinforcing learning. More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. I look forward to helping students build confidence and enjoy learning as much as possible. I completed my GCSEs at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy, obtaining the highest grade available (9) in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science. I then completed my A-levels in 2024, obtaining grade A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I took part in an extracurricular programme called Maths Masterclasses, where I prepared worksheets and delivered presentations to primary school students, helping stretch their understanding of Maths beyond the standard curriculum. I was also a member of the Virtual Medical Society, working with other aspiring medical students to create presentations on topics such as medical current affairs, admission exams, and aspects of the application process. This helped me develop the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence. In addition, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and was awarded an A* for my work. My project, titled The Role of Health Literacy in Preventative Children's Medicine, deepened my understanding of the educational principles used in healthcare and how they can be applied within broader educational contexts.

Hi! I'm Archie and I'm a GCSE, iGCSE, AS Level and A-Level maths tutor currently studying Mathematics and Finance at university with a current first prediction. I truly enjoy tutoring students who struggle with maths and specialise in improving predicted grades. I used to struggle with maths when I was younger but that's because I didn't understand it and now I do I'm planning on pursuing a career in it and would love to help other students get to the same level that I'm at. I attended Haileybury as my secondary school where I gained 10 GCSEs gaining 7s, 8s, and 9s and I studied maths, physics and computer science at a-level get ABB respectively. I am now at the University of York studying mathematics and finance with a current first class prediction. I specialise in improve predicted grades by studying and fully understanding the mark schemes. My favourite maths topics are calculus, mechanics, and trigonometric functions.
