I have increased my knowledge through experiences with top law firms to supporting patients in healthcare areas which has allowed me to strengthen my communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain things clearly. I’ve also helped several students improve their understanding of subjects and grow in confidence with their learning. As a tutor, I take a supportive and adaptable approach as my degree encourages me to understand that every student learns differently so I tailor lessons to suit individual needs. During sixth form, I took part in a project called Maths Masterclasses, where I helped design and deliver lessons to primary school students. Planning my presentation required careful thought about structure, clarity, and how to challenge the students beyond their curriculum. I also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), researching how education strategies can be used in children’s medicine to give children and their carers better understanding of health. Techniques like “teach back,” where students explain a topic in their own words, have stuck with me as important tools for reinforcing learning. More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. I completed my GCSEs at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy, obtaining the highest grade available (9) in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science. I then completed my A-levels in 2024, obtaining grade A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I was also a member of the Virtual Medical Society, working with other aspiring medical students to create presentations on topics such as medical current affairs, admission exams, and aspects of the application process. This helped me develop the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence. In addition, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and was awarded an A* for my work. My project, titled The Role of Health Literacy in Preventative Children's Medicine, deepened my understanding of the educational principles used in healthcare and how they can be applied within broader educational contexts.

I am Italian and earned a BA in Foreign Languages in Palermo, Italy. Since 2008, I have been teaching Italian and French in the UK, providing personalized tutoring to help students improve their language skills, gain confidence, and achieve their learning goals. Graduated in Palermo, Italy, with a degree focused on modern foreign languages, linguistics, communication, and intercultural studies. Hi! My name is Amy and I’m currently studying Maths and Philosophy at the University of Leeds. I am a Maths tutor aiming to help students between KS2 and GCSE level to enjoy and understand Maths. Beyond studying, I have a passion for dancing and love to perform on stage. When I am not dancing, I also love to solve puzzles and riddles. Initially, I attended All Saints Primary School. Then, I went to Greenbank High School and received 11 GCSEs with grades ranging from 7-9. I took a mix of GCSE subjects from Dance and Drama to History and Further Maths. After High School, I attended Runshaw College. I completed A-levels in Maths, Psychology and English Literature and earned grades AAC. I also completed an AS-level in Further Maths and earned a grade C. I am currently completing a BSc Maths and Philosophy honours degree programme at the University of Leeds. I have completed my second year and will hopefully be graduating in the summer of 2026.
