Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for over three years, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the reviews, (also on this page), from some of my current and past parents whose children I am teaching/have taught! These statements can help you make an informed decision and, (hopefully), choose me as your child's next tutor. I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. I also have a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over three years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! Hello! I am Reeshma and I offer tutoring in a variety of subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, 11+ and UKCAT/BMAT admission tests, English language (specifically), and Geography. I can cover KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-level (Biology and Chemistry) content from any exam board and will always ensure the content covered in lessons is relevant to the tutee’s requirements. I have the most experience with AQA for the Sciences and Edexcel for Mathematics. I also scored highly on the UKCAT/BMAT tests and am prepared to share my wisdom to tutees as I know what the problematic areas are and the best ways to tackle them. I am currently studying medicine and hence still very familiar with many of the concepts from A-level Biology and Chemistry, as much of what I study stems from knowledge acquired from GCSE and A-level Sciences. I am extremely enthusiastic about medicine, as the human body is one of my most profound fascinations, and I believe I can convey my enthusiasm for education through my lessons. In sixth form, I was a peer mentor and often had to help students struggling with their subjects, and so I have attained a plethora of knowledge on efficient methods to overcome revision and learning issues; furthermore, I am quite an active and independent learner and have trialled many different studying techniques in the past. Therefore, I can tailor my lessons to the tutee’s preferences, e.g., usage of more diagrams for visual learners and more verbal explanations for aural learners. I have the most experience tutoring mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, english, EPQ, UCAT/BMAT, school admission tests and reviewing personal statements for a variety of students at different levels, including KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-level and university level.

Hi! I’m a multilingual Chemical Engineering student at the University of Edinburgh. I teach Spanish, English, Maths and Chemistry, adapting each lesson to the student’s level, goals and learning style. I focus on clear explanations, practical examples and interactive exercises to help students build confidence, improve their understanding and make steady progress. I am patient, approachable and happy to support both schoolwork and exam preparation. I am currently studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, where my degree combines advanced Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, programming and engineering problem-solving. Before university, I completed secondary education (Spanish Baccalaureate) in Spain following a scientific curriculum. I also spent an academic year abroad in New York, which strengthened my English, independence and ability to adapt to an international learning environment. I hold a Cambridge C2 qualification in English and am fully fluent in Spanish, English, and Catalan, allowing me to support students confidently in these languages as well as in STEM subjects.

I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Plymouth. From a young age I have always enjoyed helping others as it brings happiness and joy to me. This is also the main reason why I wanted to become a tutor. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports, particularly football and cricket. I have 2 younger brothers, so I am always entertained. I love talking and spending time with them. For secondary school, I attended the Oxford Spires Academy where I completed my GCSEs. For 6th form, I was accepted by The Cherwell School, where I completed my A-levels. At GCSE level science I achieved a grade 8/8 and at A-levels I achieved grades A in both Biology and Chemistry. In my first year of UCAS application, I did not receive any offers to study Medicine at University. However, towards the end of summer I came across an opportunity to study medicine through an alternative route. The University of Plymouth were offering a one-year transfer from Biomed to Medicine providing one achieved 3 As at A-levels, maintained a 70% pass rate across all modules in 1st year and passed the interview for Medicine. In the previous year only 2/23 applicants were successful in this route. Although this was intense, I was able to successfully transfer from Biomed to Medicine after the 1st year.
