Hi, I’m Safoora, currently a second-year medical student with a strong passion for education across a range of subjects. Medicine has taught me not just the importance of hard work, but also how to communicate complex ideas clearly and patiently — skills I bring into my tutoring sessions. I tutor GCSE Biology, chemistry, combined science and psychology, as well as KS3 and KS2 Science. I understand that subjects like biology and chemistry can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into manageable, straightforward steps tailored to how each student learns best. I’m genuinely passionate about helping students build confidence and develop a deeper understanding so they’re fully prepared to tackle any challenges they face in exams. I believe learning should be interactive, engaging, and relevant, so I work to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Whether it’s helping with exam preparation or simply tackling tricky topics, my aim is to support students in developing critical thinking skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom. Outside of my studies, I enjoy reading and keeping fit, which help me maintain balance and stay motivated. I received my early education at three different primary schools, which provided me with a strong academic foundation. My training in medicine has greatly enhanced my understanding of the sciences, which I bring into my teaching as a biology and human biology tutor. I have been a consistent high scorer throughout my academic journey and tutor students of all ages and levels, across all major UK boards (England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland). I also have a Bachelor's degree in Anesthesia Technology which adds to my in depth knowledge in the field of science. I realized very early on in my education that a good teacher is what contributes largely in the making of a good student. Not only does one need to put all the efforts on their end but also the guidance of a good teacher is what can drive a student to excellence. My aim is to do exactly that - strive hard on the journey of achieving excellence TOGETHER. As a tutor, I will bring this approach to my style of teaching where I am consistently ready to go an extra mile to not only make my students comfortable but also to make them love what they study as opposed to just looking at it like a chore. Whether it is researching the curriculum with the most updated content to ensuring that they are best prepared to write their exams and that their knowledge is not just short lived, rather they have it strongly fixed in their core memory. As a tutor, I will first build a relationship with my students by earning their trust and learn what it is that they value most and assure them that we will work as a team keeping their best interests at heart. In my classes, I would first like to start with icebreakers so my students will be relaxed and ready to start our study session with a new found enthusiasm before diving into the actual content. Then, I would like to learn about their weaknesses and what it is that they have the most difficulty with and keep those points in mind before starting our lessons. Starting from what is easy and then indulge in more challenging topics. I strongly believe that tutoring is a tailor made approach and no two students are the same. So, it is of prime importance to conform based on what an individual student needs. As tedious as studying can get, it is all the more important in today's day and age to make it more fun and enjoyable and I would like to do just that by including quizzes, games, power-points etc related to every topic especially the ones that are more difficult to understand, so as to follow a more modern approach to studying but also including tests and practice some equations or structures to test their knowledge. Hence, maintaining the traditional approach to studying. At the end of each lesson I will encourage the students to summarize what was taught and also practise active recall in the follow up classes in order to solidify their understanding as well as boosting their memory. I will also include mock tests in their lessons which will mimic the actual exams to prepare them better for the same. In my school years, I have experience with helping/ tutoring my fellow students who needed extra help. It has been one of my most prized achievements to watch them pass their exams with my help and guidance. Going from that to having 45+ current students from all over UK, and over 900 lessons has increased my expertise. I am very organized in my everyday life and studies and will be sure to do the same with my sessions to modulate everything in the most systematic way whether it is addressing my students' queries or communicating with their parents about any concerns that they may have, and giving my honest feedback timely regarding any observations I may have about the student and keep them on top of their child's education journey. To conclude, I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible by being not only their tutor, but also a mentor.

I adapt lesson style and content to your needs. We can go through specific subject areas, study skills and exam skills as required. I can vary how the material is delivered according to the situation and what works for you. I will teach and do lecture notes where appropriate, or take a more "coaching" style if that suits you and the situation better. We can even do more seminar/discussion style lessons as you become more comfortable with the material. At the heart of all of the above is making sure that we are working together so that you can achieve your goals. I know that you are probably already having lessons in school or at home, and my goal will be to complement those existing lessons rather than replacing them so that you can get the best value out of our time together. Specialisms: I am able to cover all aspects of the curriculum but I am particularly focused on skills. Psychology is a little different to other subjects covered at A-Level - not only do students have to learn a lot of information and produce it under exam conditions, but there is also a need to analyze and evaluate what has been learned so that they can write clearly, concisely and insightfully about that information. As well as teaching the syllabus content, I can help improve a student's thinking and writing skills so that they can go into exams with more confidence. I have also developed my coaching skills so work with students to help them improve their own problem-solving capabilities so that they can identify how they can study more effectively. A bit about me: I'm a PhD-qualified tutor who, over the course of my career, spent time working as a researcher, consultant and analyst across different industries. In all of those other roles, the part I enjoyed most was training, teaching and coaching people, so I am working towards making that my full-time career. Working in industry has taught me the importance of always turning up prepared and ready to work, using clear, prompt and honest communication and making sure that whoever I am working with knows that I am working in their best interests. The same will apply when we work together. In my spare time I love to play football and follow a lot of sport. I am learning to play guitar (very slowly) and enjoy listening to music, going to gigs when the opportunity arises. I love learning and am always doing some course or another - I'm currently studying to teach English as a foreign language and working towards accredited coach status.
