With experience in tutoring all the way up to Undergraduate level in Mathematics, Engineering and Physics, I can provide a high level of support and assistance in these fields. I am currently working towards a Doctorate in Engineering with the Universities of Exeter, Warwick, and Cranfield. After completing my A Levels in Mathematics, Physics, and Geography, I completed a bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering achieving a First-Class degree in which I developed a smart electronic prosthetic system using soft robotics. Alongside my academic experience, I have developed a wide portfolio in my field. From industrial experience in Formula One to renewable energy generation, Artificial Intelligent systems and plant-based wetsuit designs, I am able to provide insights and the knowledge you need pursue Science and Engineering after your A Levels and GCSEs if you wish. I don’t just tutor and research all day either! I (try to!) surf as much as I can and I also work on various wildlife film projects, many being underwater shoots. I’m not here to judge you on your abilities. There are no stupid questions. I won’t be shouting equations at you. I like to work in a relaxed and supportive environment where we can focus on your needs and targets together while tailoring the sessions for you so that we can achieve our goals. During my time on Gostudent, I have clocked several hundred sessions, setup a purpose built tutoring desk environment with multiple cameras/ lighting to aid in tutoring and taken students from low confidence and little understanding to a point where some even chose to pursue their once hated subjects at higher level and are excelling at university/ new careers. I am confident in my tutoring abilities, have been recommended by multiple parents and become invested in my students to do the best they can. It saddens me to say I will no longer be taking any new students or trial sessions while Gostudent continue with their decision not to pay tutors for trial sessions MSc in Sustainable Materials BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering During my time on Gostudent, I have clocked several hundred sessions, setup a purpose built tutoring desk environment with multiple cameras/ lighting to aid in tutoring and taken students from low confidence and little understanding to a point where some even chose to pursue their once hated subjects at higher level and are excelling at university/ new careers. Lower level: Mathematics GCSE: Mathematics and Statistics A Level: Mathematics and Statistics Higher Level: Mathematics and Statistics Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC Languages: English (native speaker) Preferred student age group: Any Tutoring Experience: I have been a tutor with GoStudent since March 2022 and have tutored students with a variety of different skill levels. One student was able to pass his foundation paper after multiple attempts. Another student did so well ina school test that he moved up from doing the foundation paper to the higher paper and one other student recieved the required level for his first choice of university. About you: I'm a PhD graduate and have experience teaching at a wide range of ages. I have a keen interest in films and play bridge. I have even played bridge for England. I have both a Masters degree and PhD from the University of Sheffield in mathematics. While at university I assisted in running tutorials for undergraduate students. As an assistant demonstrator I led classes through an example question at the front while encouraging them to take part in working through the problem together. I also answered any questions they may have had individually. For certain modules I marked the students’ homework.

Hello! I'm Jacob, and I have a passion for making complex subjects like Maths, Chemistry, and Physics both understandable and enjoyable. In the past 6 months, I've developed a strong background in private tutoring, specifically in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry for students up to A-level. This experience has not only sharpened my teaching skills but also deepened my appreciation for these subjects. Additionally, at university, I guided small groups of undergraduate students through tutorial sessions, focusing on preparing them for their exams. These sessions were designed to bridge the gap between theory and the practical application of knowledge, particularly in tackling problem questions. My teaching style is interactive and focused on practical application. I emphasise guided practice to lay a solid foundation, followed by independent practice to build confidence and self-reliance in learning. Whether you need support in specific areas or a comprehensive strategy for exam preparation, I'm here to offer personalised assistance. I also believe in the value of grading and constructive feedback, helping students understand their progress and areas for growth. I aim to create a supportive learning environment that challenges students while encouraging them to explore and ask questions. If you're seeking a tutor committed to your academic and personal development, I'd be glad to help! My academic journey includes achieving top grades (A*) in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Further Maths at A-level, complemented by a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London. Recently, I've developed a keen interest in Computer Science and Machine Learning. In fact, my master's project was all about diving into Machine Learning, which has been an exciting new chapter in my studies.

My name is Rob and live in Menai Bridge. I studied a degree in Physics and Maths at Newcastle Upon Tyne University. After working in industry as a geophysicist, i went to Southampton University to study a masters degree in oceanography. Then a PhD specializing in the observations and modelling of internal waves, graduating in 2001. After a number of post-doc positions involving satellite remote sensing of the oceans, my career took a different direction. Firstly, i worked for a small startup company in Edinburgh, that developed novel techniques for electromagnetic sampling at sea, with the aim to infer the presence of hydrocarbons below the seabed. After a few years, the company got bought out by a Norwegian exploration company (PGS) and i transferred to working on seismic exploration ships. I have used my physics and mathematics background extensively during my career. I now wish to pass on my understanding to help students to discover the joy of doing physics. My other passion is playing guitar and mandola in a gigging band, that we started up over the last 2 years of lockdown. We have now put together 24 original songs, enough for 2 recorded albums. We are aiming to produce at 4 track EP demo, to be recorded at a local music studio. I also enjoy walking in our local mountains and along coasts.

Hi! I'm Michaelangelos, a mathematics graduate from the University of St Andrews (MMath) and incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow. I've been tutoring maths for several years, including Higher and National 5, and it's something I genuinely love doing. What I care most about is helping students build real confidence and intuition, not just memorise steps. Maths can feel intimidating, and I get a lot of satisfaction from being the person who helps make it click, whether that's turning anxiety into understanding, or helping a curious student go further than they thought possible. I'm equally excited to work with students who find maths difficult and scary as I am to work with those who want to push themselves and become really strong mathematically. Whatever your starting point, I'll meet you there. I am currently an incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow, where my research focuses on dissecting neural networks, specifically regarding optimisation and generalisation. Prior to this, I completed an Integrated Master of Mathematics (MMath) at the University of St Andrews. During my time at St Andrews, I was placed on the Dean's List consecutively and achieved first-class averages in my final two years of study. I also spent an exchange year at Western University during the 2024-2025 academic year. My academic background is deeply rooted in advanced mathematics and computational science. My master’s dissertation, which earned a 90% grade and was highly commended for the Duncan Prize, focused on a posteriori methods for error control via the reconstruction technique. My key areas of study have included stochastic dynamics, statistical machine learning, financial mathematics, neural networks, and data analytics consulting. Through these experiences, I have developed strong technical proficiencies in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, and R, along with various machine learning frameworks.
