More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. Hence, maintaining the traditional approach to studying. At the end of each lesson I will encourage the students to summarize what was taught and also practise active recall in the follow up classes in order to solidify their understanding as well as boosting their memory. I will also include mock tests in their lessons which will mimic the actual exams to prepare them better for the same. In my school years, I have experience with helping/ tutoring my fellow students who needed extra help. It has been one of my most prized achievements to watch them pass their exams with my help and guidance. Going from that to having 45+ current students from all over UK, and over 900 lessons has increased my expertise.
